Wayne Fahnestock, 67, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away on June 23, 2026, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. He was born on August 8, 1958, in Sidney, Ohio to the late Jack and Barbara (Layman) Fahnestock.
On October 14, 1977, he married Tonya (Briggs) Fahnestock in Sidney, Ohio and she survives in Bellefontaine.
He leaves behind his children: Shasta (Clay) Styers, Ryan (Amy) Fahnestock, and Cory Fahnestock; his grandchildren: Jasmine, Mason, Zoey, Dylan, Gavin, Zander, Chloe, Wyatt, and Rory; great grandchildren: Mirabella and Teagan; brothers: Brant Fahnestock and Kenny (Jill) Fahnestock; sister-in-law, Lori Fahnestock; and special friend, Joni Dolan and her family. He is preceded in death by his brother, Mike Fahnestock.
An outdoorsman at heart, Wayne’s happiest days were spent enjoying nature – fishing, hunting, camping, and mushroom hunting. He loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and could usually be found tinkering or working on lawnmowers. He collected antiques and was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes and Buffalo Bills fan. Above all he loved his family deeply and his dogs that he lovingly called “his girls”, Lola, Shelby, and Allie.
A memorial service for Wayne will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at the Bellefontaine First United Methodist Church, 201 N. Main Street, Bellefontaine, Ohio. Visitation will be two hours prior from 10:00 to 12:00 at the church.
