Wanda Lee McBride

Wanda Lee McBride, age 85, of Bellefontaine, Ohio passed away at 5:50 P.M. Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Logan Acres Care Center in Bellefontaine. She was born in Dayton, Ohio December 13, 1931, to the late Owen F. Staup and Madonna (Campbell) Staup. A sister, Geri Howard also preceded Wanda in death.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathleen (Mark) Kerns of Belle Center, Ohio and Kimberlee (Joanna) McBride of Richmond, Indiana; six grandchildren, Kristina, Marcia, Mark, Miranda, Amanda, and Maureen; eleven great grandchildren with one on the way; a sister, Phyllis (David) Ackley of West Liberty, Ohio; five nieces and one nephew.

Wanda was a 1950 graduate of Bellefontaine High School. She then graduated from nursing school at the Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio retiring as a Registered Nurse and devoted her life to helping others. Wanda was responsible for the 1963 State of the Mental Health Clinic in Tri-Valley. Wanda was a member of the Episcopal Church in Bellefontaine and the Lions Club. She enjoyed being with her family and loved cooking and listening to classical music with a martini.

Chaplain Victor Brady will officiate a graveside service at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 18, 2017 at the columbarium at the Bellefontaine Cemetery in Bellefontaine.

The arrangements are in the care of the staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Bellefontaine.
