Suzanne "Suzie" Albano

January 9, 1950 — May 21, 2026

Bellefontaine

Suzanne “Suzie” Albano, 76, of Bellefontaine, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Logan Acres Care Center. She was born in Barberton, Ohio on January 9, 1950, to the late Stephen L. and Mary Lou (Wally) Knowles.

Suzie graduated from Shelby High School in Shelby, Ohio in 1968 and later attended technical training in Mansfield, Ohio to become a radiology technician. In 1975, she met her future husband, David, while they both worked at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.

On October 9, 1976, in Geneva, Ohio she married David A. Albano and he survives. In 1989, Suzie and her family moved to Bellefontaine, Ohio, where she continued her career in medical imaging. At the time of her retirement in 2014, she served on the staff of Mary Rutan Crawfis Imaging Center.

Suzie is survived by her children, Jessica (Dave) Boeckman and Jacob (Stephanie Van Meter) Albano; grandchildren, Duke Edward Boeckman, Nash Lou Boeckman, and Evelyn Rose Albano; sister, Lanie (Roger) Wall; brothers, Randy (Belén) Knowles, and Steve (Lori) Knowles; and several wonderful nieces and nephews.

Suzie was an active member of First United Presbyterian Church in Bellefontaine, where she cherished her church family and faithfully served as a deacon for a period of time. She joyfully took part in many church programs, including the Giving Tree and Cruise-In, and especially loved visiting fellow church members and sharing time and fellowship with others. Suzie found happiness in cooking, baking, gardening, shopping, and relaxing on the beaches of Sanibel Island, Florida. She treasured her family and friends and delighted in making holidays and special occasions memorable with her thoughtful touch. She also had a special place in her heart for animals and loved caring for them. Suzie will be lovingly remembered for her legendary baked goods, her generous spirit, and the simple joy she found each spring while watching hummingbirds return to her yard.

Most of all, Suzie dedicated her life to caring for others, a gift that could be seen in both her career and the way she loved her family every day. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose greatest joy came from making sure those around her felt supported, comforted, and deeply loved. Whether caring for David, cheering on her children and grandchildren, preparing meals, offering encouragement, or simply being present when someone needed her, Suzie gave of herself wholeheartedly. Her kindness, strength, and nurturing spirit were at the center of her family and will remain one of the greatest gifts she leaves behind.
