Susan Louise Snipes

Susan L. Snipes, 58, of Lewistown, passed away at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, Ohio. She was born on September 1, 1964, in Corning, Arkansas, a daughter of the late Johnnie Hazel (Henson) Shirey and Huey J. McWilliams.

On April 24, 1991, Susan married Jerry Neil Snipes in Arkansas, and he preceded her in death on March 30, 2022. She was also preceded in death by her mother, and two grandchildren, Jayden, and Charlotte.

Susan is survived by her father and stepmother, Huey J. and Sharon K. McWilliams; five children, Dawn Snipes, Nikki (John) Shaner, Amanda (Rocky) Swonguer, Joshua (Tonia) Amonds, and Nona Amonds; 15 grandchildren, Ashlyn, Kaitlyn, Riley, Bennett, McKenzie, Mahalie, Dakota, Alexis, Addison, Jordyn, Everleigh, Taisley, Kasch, Tamarra, Kanayn; a sister, Selena (Dale) Korleski; two brothers, Shawn (Kelly) McWilliams, and James (Keley) Jones; and many nieces, nephews, and special friends.

A homemaker, Susan and Jerry had a deep love for the Lord and were proud of the Reach Out Outreach Teen Ministry they operated together. She was an artist who enjoyed crafting and traveling.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
