Steven Paul Westlake, 60, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 4:40 p.m. on Sunday, May 17, 2026, in Hospice of Central Ohio at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center with his wife by his side. He was born in Springfield, Ohio on April 7, 1966, to the late Robert Lew Westlake and Pauline Elizabeth (Tropp) Westlake, who survives.
On May 27, 2009, in Sevier County, Tennessee, he married Judith (Watkins) Westlake and she survives.
Steven is also survived by his step-children: Tiffany (Kenneth Ladson) VanHoose, Derek (Amanda) VanHoose, and David (Stephanie) VanHoose; step-grandchildren: Tate, Alora, Oliver, Willow, Aggie, Atlas, Mordecai, Averi, Jaxon, Stevie Jade, and Atlanna; sister, Lisa Ann (Rodney Hubble) Westlake; brother-in-law, Robert (Stephanie) Watkins; and nephews, Hunter (Kira Jones) Hubble, and Devon (Raistlyn LeVan) Westlake.
Along with his father, Steven was preceded in death by his brother, Brian Edward Westlake.
Steven was a member of the Bellefontaine Open Bible. He graduated from Riverside High School and attended The Ohio State University for engineering. Steven's engineering career took him to several different states; he enjoyed his work. He loved spending time with his wife traveling, driving cars, remodeling, and being outside. Steven enjoyed life to its fullest. His fight against cancer was short, but he fought till the end. Steven will be missed by all his family and friends.
Steven’s wish was to be cremated, and he will be buried in Greenwood-Union Cemetery in DeGraff. A Celebration of Steven’s life will be held by the family at a later date.
