Steven Floyd Ammons

Steven F. Ammons, 86, passed away on May 26, 2026. He was born on September 7, 1939, to the late Loretta and Floyd Ammons. He is survived by his sister, Patricia Ricketts; his brother, Glenn Ammons; his niece, Kristen (Jacob) Johnson; and nephews, Michael Ricketts, Brian (Nikki) Ammons, Corey (Suzanne) Ammons; along with many great nieces and great nephews. He is preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Annette Ammons and brother-in-law, Warren Ricketts.

A 1957 Belle Center High School graduate, Steve lived around Belle Center his entire life. He was proud of his farm upbringing and loved talking about crops from season to season. In his younger years, he worked as a barber before going to work for Rudolph Foods in Westminster, where he worked nearly 28 years before retiring. He was a lifelong member of the Belle Center United Methodist Church, where he was raised and attended throughout most of his life.

Steve enjoyed socializing at the Belle Center coffee shop, visiting with friends and the local farmers. He was an avid coin collector and had made good friendships over the years while searching for rare coins. Steve enjoyed gathering for birthday parties, reunions, and other celebrations. He enjoyed western movies, especially ones starring John Wayne or Clint Eastwood. He also liked rooting on the Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns.

Pastor Kevin Smith will officiate a graveside service on June 12, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at the Fairview McDonald Cemetery.
