Ruth E. Yoder

Ruth E. Yoder, 97, of Goshen, Indiana and formerly of West Liberty, Ohio, passed away at 4:58 P.M. Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017 at Greencroft Healthcare. She was born Aug. 12, 1919, in West Liberty, to Oliver R. & Rose A. (Stoltzfus) Byler. She married Chalmer W. Yoder March 5, 1944, in West Liberty and he passed away October 24, 1979.

Surviving is a daughter, Flora Kay (Victor) Martin of Baltimore, Maryland; brothers, Dr. Robert (Lora) Byler of Hagerstown, Maryland, Elmore (Cheryl) Byler of Hiawassee, Georgia, Ellsworth (Evelyn) Byler of White Pigeon, Michigan; a granddaughter, Danielle (Ken) Floyd of New York City, New York and a great-grandson, Christian Floyd. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; a sister, Mary Classed, and brothers, infant Richard Stoltfuz Byler, Floyd Byler, Frank Byler, Roy Byler and Dr. Arthur Byler.

Ruth was a registered nurse, retiring in 1981. She was a graduate of LaJunta Mennonite School of Nursing and was a member of College Mennonite Church, the Gideons Auxiliary International and the National Christian Embassy in Jerusalem.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at the Fairview Cemetery in West Liberty, Ohio.

The funeral arrangements are in the care of the staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in West Liberty.
