Roberta Maxine True

Roberta Maxine True, 92, formerly of Russells Point, passed away Wednesday morning, September 2, 2026, at Logan Acres Care Center.

Maxine was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio, on May 25, 1934, to the late Marion Martin Parmer and Donna Jane Alexander Parmer. She married Paul E. True on September 11, 1953, in Bellefontaine, and he preceded her in death on January 20, 2007. Maxine was also preceded in death by her son, Mark E. True, and siblings Marion Parmer, Nellie Dysert, Merle Parmer, Russell Parmer, and Thelma Parmer Stanley. She is survived by her brother, Larry Parmer.

Maxine is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Mike and Robin True, Gary and Terry True, and Jeff and Donna True; nine grandchildren: Denise (JR) Woods, Mindy Slagle, Justin (Carrie) True, Jenna Cavin, Braden (Emily) True, Nathan (Angie) Miranda, Matt (Michelle) Miranda, Donna (Tim) Johnson, and Olivia (Aaron) Hostetler; twenty-six great-grandchildren: Delany (Dalton) Faler, Peyton True, Landen True, Lennox True, Elijah Slagle, Vedder Slagle, Owen Slagle, Niall Slagle, Adam True, Eleanor True, Brant Miranda, Brooke Miranda, Brody Miranda, Maxton Miranda, Connor Miranda, Megan (Anthony) Walsh, Cole Miranda, Cooper Miranda, Xavier Johnson, Grace Johnson, Abby Johnson, Jeff Johnson, Sam Johnson, Cecilia Johnson, Flora Hostetler, and Dorian Hostetler; one great-great-grandchild, Braxton Slagle; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Maxine worked at Isaly’s in Bellefontaine, a job she enjoyed and often spoke fondly of. After marrying Paul in 1953, she devoted herself to her family and her home. She also served as secretary for the family business, True’s TV Sales and Service. In her later years, she made her home at Logan Acres Senior Community. Maxine was a member of Cornerstone Church in Huntsville. She enjoyed crocheting, and she enjoyed baking cakes and decorating them.

Pastor Bryan Meadows will officiate Maxine’s memorial service on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Church at Huntsville, located at 6611 Fruit St., Huntsville, where the family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Maxine’s urn will be interred in Huntsville Cemetery beside her husband, Paul, and her son Mark, at a later date.
