Phyllis Ann Prall Wallace, 95, of Bellefontaine, passed away Wednesday afternoon, March 4, 2026, at Mary Rutan Hospital.
Phyllis was born in Logan County, Ohio, on January 2, 1931, to the late Leo and Margaret (King) Grimes. She was preceded in death by husbands Charles Allen Prall and Albert Wallace; son Brian Allen Prall; son-in-law David Poland; grandson Jason Poland; 3 sisters: Kate Plank, Pauline Moffitt, and Ruth Wirick; and 3 brothers: Benny Grimes, Mark Grimes, and Joe Grimes.
Phyllis is survived by her children: Beth Anne Prall Poland of West Liberty, Jana (Dennis) Prall Wolever of West Liberty, and Ed (Tammy) Prall of Zanesfield; daughter-in-law Erica Prall of Bellefontaine; 7 grandchildren: Gina (John) Woodruff, Julie Randall, Mindy (J.P.) Pickelsimer, Lindsey (Corey) Frank, Amy Kensler, Brad (Courtney) Prall, and Brianna (Jake) Clem; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; 2 brothers: Junior Grimes of Bellefontaine, and Donny Grimes of Kenton; many nieces and nephew; and Albert Wallace’s children: Lee (Bonnie) Wallace, Lanny (Renee) Wallace, and Lorrie (Greg) Best, and their families.
A 1948 graduate of Monroe High School, Phyllis was a homemaker and enjoyed raising her family. She later worked at the Transportation Research Center for 10 years. She loved flowers, gardening, crocheting, bowling, and putting puzzles together. In her younger years, she was a member of the West Liberty Garden Club. Phyllis and Charles Allen operated “Maple Lake Farm” together for 42 years. She enjoyed wintering in Florida with Albert, as well as working in the Logan County Fair office for many years. Phyllis also enjoyed going to her grandchildren’s activities, and mushroom hunting. She attended Bellefontaine First United Methodist Church with Albert.
A visitation will be held for family and close friends on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, from 11am – 12 noon at Eichholtz & Daring Funeral Home & Cremation Center, West Liberty. A graveside service will be held at 12:30pm at Middleburg Cemetery.
