Opaline Watkins

Opaline Watkins, 91, passed away at 9:15 p.m. Sunday, June 20, 2021 at Green Hills Community in West Liberty, Ohio.

She was born in Paintsville, Kentucky March 6, 1930, a daughter of the late Archie and Eva (Williams) Trimble.

She married Walter “Ray” Watkins I February 2, 1952 in Urbana, Ohio and he preceded her in death January 26, 1999.  She was also preceded in death by her son, Walter “Bud” Watkins II; a brother, Wade Trimble and sisters Anna Lee Rutan and Dorothy L. Stidham.

Opaline is survived by a son, Paul W. Smith of Belle Center, Ohio; six grandchildren, Sherry Stettler, Jon (Rebekah) Watkins, Andrew (Emily) Watkins, Daniel (Sara) Watkins, David (Kathleen) Smith and Steve (Sara) Smith; fifteen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Nancy) Trimble of Michigan; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Watkins and numerous nieces and nephews.

Opaline was a homemaker and member of Marysville Church of the Nazarene.  She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Church was a big part of her life; Opaline loved her church and Sunday school class.

Her grandson, Jonathan Watkins will officiate a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 25, 2021 at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Bellefontaine, Ohio.  Friends may call one hour prior to the service.

The staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Bellefontaine is honored to serve the Watkins family.
