Michael J. "Mike" Godfrey

Bellefontaine resident Michael J. "Mike" Godfrey, 60, formerly of Marysville, passed away at his home on Sunday, June 7, 2026, after a four-month battle with a rare and aggressive cancer. Born on June 30, 1965, in Batesville, Indiana, he was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Gladys (Fannin) Godfrey.

Mike is survived by his wife, Debra (Hilton) Godfrey. He is also survived by his children, Ki (Jon) Griffo and Kane (Carrie) Godfrey; stepson, Jack Cunningham; six grandchildren, Knox, Finley, Baylor, Collins, Gatlin, and Greylan; and his siblings, Mary Brandel, Marcia (John) Foulkes, and Scott Sheridan, alongside numerous nieces and nephews.

Mike loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and his newest hobby, beekeeping. He was devoted to his family, treasured his grandchildren, and shared an inseparable bond with Deb. A handy man who loved property projects and working in his barn, Mike leaves behind a legacy of love and hard work.

In accordance with Mike's wishes, he will be cremated, and no services are planned at this time.
