Mary Virginia Brill, 96, of West Liberty and formerly of Bellefontaine, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025, in Otterbein Green Hills Senior Life Community.
She was born in Columbus, Ohio and raised in Plumwood, Ohio by her late parents, Henry and Rose (Malone) Schuer.
She is survived by nine children: Rose Marie (Michael) Lyons, of North Lewisburg, Philip Lee (Patricia) Brill of Tennessee, Carol Sue (Mark) Stinemetz of Richwood, Dwight Allen (Marilyn) Brill, of Richwood, Joyce Ann (Harold) Porginski of Columbus, Jeff Austin (Carolyn) Brill of Bellefontaine, Thomas Joseph (Charlotte) Brill of Bellefontaine, Gary Leon (Jeanie) Brill of West Mansfield, and Richard Gerrard (Cindi) Brill of Florida, 22 grandchildren, Mary (Kevin) Puckett, Michelle (Max) Zeigler, Melissa (Jon) Heizer, Danuall (Doug) Schoen, Virginia Thomas, Amy Schirtzinger, Wendy Alltop, Allen (Holli) Stinemetz, Rob Brill, Anita (Kris) Price, Rebecca (Joe) Jaska, Cathy (Chad) Holloway, Samantha (Eric) Watkins, Stephanie (Jadrian) Watkins, Wayne (Nicole) Brill, Emily (J.D.) Harshfield, Tina (Matt) Buyer, Joseph (Kimberly) Brill, Lance (Carrie) Brill, Luke (Cassidy) Brill, Sara (Justin) Monroe, and Deb (Avneek) Singh-Sandu, many step grandchildren, great grandchildren: Ashley, Steven, Cierra, Eligh, Melinda, Rebekah, Austin, Rachel, Taylor, Mercedes, Madison, Micah, Marissa, Kristopher, Derrick, Dyllen, Brandon, Britney, Sierra, Wyatt, Ethan, Kody, Kallie, Kole, Kelsie, Kyle, Connor, Carson, Candace, Cenlee, Cain, Nichole, Haley, Kayla, Kobe, Mya, Eleanor, James, Emma, Jayde, Taylor, Tarryn, Jereiah, Styler, Troy, Austin, Camille, Natalie, Savanna, Lincoln, and Ariv, many step great grandchildren, 17 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, William, Charles, David, & Robert Schuer and a daughter-in-law, Dorothy Brill.
Mary was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bellefontaine and volunteered at Green Hills for many years, helping with serving meals, assisting the staff and even played in their Kitchen Band. She belonged to the Mother's Club of the Ohio Child Conservation League, Heartbeat of Kenton Club, the Mile-A-Day Club, and the Grange. She enjoyed gardening, reading, playing Bingo, Yahtzee, and cards (especially Bridge) and in her younger years she and her family were hosts to several exchange students.
Father Shawn Landenwitch will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 11:00am in St. Patrick Catholic Church, 316 E. Patterson Avenue, Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311. Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 10th from 4 to 7pm at the Eichholtz & Daring Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main St. Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Columbus.
