Marilyn E. Wortman

Marilyn E. Wortman, 94, of Bellefontaine passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at Logan Acres Care Center.

She was born in Wood County, Ohio on August 9, 1932, to the late Norman L. and Marjorie Isabel (Grover) Fahle.

Marilyn married Benjamin W. Wortman on August 12, 1950, and he preceded her in death on May 22, 2011. She is also preceded in death by her daughter, Alana Dee Wortman; brothers: Donald and Russ Fahle and her sister, Louise (Jack) Smith.

She leaves behind her children: Stacie (Mike) Howsman of Bellefontaine, Tamara (David) Maroon of West Chester, Ohio, Rand (Gay) Wortman of Panama City, Florida, and Alan Wortman of Sidney, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Connie Bane of Panama City, Florida; grandchildren: Benjamin (Christy) Wortman, Amy (Rob) Thomas, Kim (Andrew) Barr, Wendy (Lucas) Rhoads, Michael (Amanda) Maroon, Dustin (Beth) Maroon, Sara (Josh) Jones, Kirsten (Doug) Clark, Ashtyn (James) Zarycki; great grandchildren: Amanda, Sam, Hilton, Ella, Riley, Jason, Tessa, Jackson, Ethan, Nathan, Logan, Delaney, Lillian, Desmond, Lyla, Hudson and Kennedy; several nieces and nephews; and dear friends: Bud, Judy, and Jann.

Marilyn enjoyed crocheting and quilting and over the years earned numerous well-deserved ribbons at the county fair for her work. Her love for music became a beautiful legacy that she passed down to many of her grandchildren. She loved crafting homemade birthday cards and having them ready to brighten someone’s day. In her free time, she loved to play Bingo with her friends.

A private family graveside service will take place at Greenwood-Union Cemetery in DeGraff.
