Margaret Faye "Peggy" Barker

Margaret Faye Barker, lovingly known as Peggy, peacefully ascended to Heaven on November 7, 2025, at the age of 92, surrounded by her family.

Peggy was born on May 28, 1933, and graduated from Botkins High School in 1951. Shortly after, she began working at Monarch in Sidney, Ohio, where fate stepped in- she met the love of her life, Robert (Bob) L. Barker, on a blind date. The two married in 1954 and shared more than five decades of love before Bob's passing in 2007.

After living briefty in Sidney, Peggy and Bob made their home in Jackson Center, Ohio, in 1960. Together, they raised two children, Bruce Barker (Janis, deceased) of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Brenda Meyer (Darren) of Wapakoneta, Ohio. Peggy was blessed with three grandchildren- Laura Koeing (Jeremie) of Minister, Ohio; Levi Meyer of Wapakoneta; and Emily Meyer of Lima-as well as three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Throughout her life, Peggy worked in several places, but her most memorable role was at Sidney Style Shop, where she served as a clothing consultant. She had a passion for fashion and a natural grace for elegance - modeling, helping customers, and dressing in stylish clothing and accessories. Always poised and polished, Peggy carried a sense of class wherever she went. She often spoke fondly of her grandchildren and found great joy in their lives and accomplishments.

Peggy's love of music and dance began early. In school, she sang in musicals and choir, and she continued sharing her beautiful voice in many church choirs over the years. Dancing brought her joy throughout her life - well into her later years, she could often be found twirling to her favorite tunes.

In 1988, Peggy and Bob moved from Jackson Center to Florida, where they enjoyed 30 wonderful years together. Peggy loved joining her husband on fishing trips in the Gulf-she never fished herself but delighted in being by his side, soaking up the sun. Their years in Florida were filled with shopping excursions, community involvement, and lasting friendships.

In 2020, Peggy returned to Ohio. Ever adventurous, she embraced new experiences such as hot air ballooning, snow tubing, axe throwing, and archery. Of all these, shopping excursions remained her favorite pastime.

Peggy came from a large and loving family of 12 children, of whom four are still living. She was the daughter of Emily Jackson (deceased 2006) and Hamer Jackson (deceased 1957).

Peggy's final wish was to be cremated, with her ashes reunited and laid to rest beside her beloved husband. The family has chosen their cherished honeymoon location- a place where Peggy and Bob vacationed many times together-as their eternal resting place.

Peggy's life was one filled with love, laughter, music, and faith. She will be remembered for her style, her grace, her devotion to family, and her joyful spirit that touched everyone who knew her.
