Lucille Marie Post

Lucille Marie Post, 100, of Bellefontaine, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026, in Logan Acres Care Center, Bellefontaine.

She was born in Hardin County, Ohio on October 27, 1925, the daughter of the late Harry and Daisy V. (Ferguson) Shepherd.

On January 18, 1953, she married Edward Frances Post in Bellefontaine, and he preceded her in death on October 19, 2021.

She is survived by her special nieces and nephews, Janet (Lynn) Wilcox of Pickerington and special neighbors, Matt (Tanisha) McCreary of Bellefontaine.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Dorothy Akers, Donna Moore, Ruby Wilcox, and Esther Smith, and two brothers, Melvin Shepherd and Walter Shepherd.

Lucille graduated from McGuffey High School and worked as a clerk and cashier at Kroger's in Bellefontaine for many years until her retirement. She was a longtime member of the First Christian Church, Bellefontaine and was active with the Logan County History Center as well as the Logan County Friendly Senior Citizens II Group.

Rev. Kevin C. Greenwald will officiate a graveside service on Monday, April 27, 2026, at 11:00am in the Gazebo at Highland Memorial Cemetery, West Liberty.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church, 215 E Sandusky Ave, Bellefontaine, OH 43311.
