Lois Elizabeth Hassel

Lois Elizabeth Moss Hassel, 95, was born September 28, 1929. She went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 1, 2025. She was the daughter of loving parents, Leroy Samuel Moss and Nora Irene Ratleff Moss who preceded her in death. Lois was the devoted wife of Paul Hassel Jr. who passed away in 1988.

Lois is survived by two adoring sons, who were with her at the time of her passing, Michael Alan (Cassie) Hassel, Powell, Ohio and Douglas Brian Hassel, Bellefontaine, Ohio. She was the grandmother of Sean (Danielle, MD) Hassel, Collierville, Tennessee, Aric (Beth) Hassel, Cincinnati, Ohio, Martin Hassel, Sean (Erica) Egler and Paul Hassel, all of Bellefontaine; and the great-grandmother of Ava, Henry, Louis, Harper and Ella Hassel, Alex Hassel and Tru and Julian Egler.

Lois was a faithful servant of the Lord. She was a member of the Auburn Avenue Baptist Church since a young girl. Over the years she served as the Church Clerk, taking over this position from her mother Nora, Sunday School Teacher, Lead Usher and Kitchen Chairwoman. Lois was a 1947 graduate of Bellefontaine High School. For many years, Lois did her civic duty by working at election day polls. She was a regular volunteer at the Logan County Senior Center. She was wonderful at making her home warm and inviting to anyone who entered. Lois enjoyed reading and following the activities of her grandchildren and great grandchildren She will be remembered for her great smile. Lois was dearly loved by all those who knew her.

Pastor Rev. Dr. Settle W. Townsend Jr. will officiate a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 8, 2025, at the Eichholtz & Daring Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main Street, Bellefontaine. Visitation will be Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Bellefontaine Cemetery following the service on Friday.

Memorial contributions may be made to Auburn Ave. Baptist Church, 216 East Auburn Ave., Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311 or United Way of Logan County, designated to Meals on Wheels, 653 South Main Street, Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311.
