Lois Jean Dyer

Lois Jean Dyer, 96, of Bellefontaine, passed away Friday morning, January 16, 2026, at Campbell Place.

Jean was born in Bellefontaine on October 23, 1929, to the late Leroy and Anna Mary (Johnson) Allen. She married Robert Dwight “Red” Dyer on January 11, 1948, in Kentucky, and he preceded her in death. Jean was also preceded in death by 2 sons: Rick Dyer and Wesley Dyer; 2 sisters: Vivian LeVan and Betty Hunt; and 4 brothers: Sam Allen, Fred Allen, Elbert “Chick” Allen, and Merle Allen.

Jean is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Valerie and Dale Rhoades of Bellefontaine; 4 grandchildren: Jennifer Newman of Bellefontaine, Michelle (Brian) Gaerke of Findlay, Alana (Rob) Harvey of East Liberty, and Zachary (Heidi) Rhoades of Bellefontaine; 8 great-grandchildren: Colin Gaerke, Brandon Gaerke, Madison Gaerke, Seth (Brittney Clements) Newman, Lexi Newman, JD (Sierra) Harvey, Shelby (Nick) Hudson, and Kyeler Rhoades; 4 great-great-grandchildren: Miles Hudson, Sawyer Hudson, Emersyn Harvey, and Elliott Harvey; and a brother Gary Allen of Bellefontaine; and a daughter-in-law Debbie Dyer of St. Petersburg, Florida.

Jean was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Bellefontaine. She enjoyed shopping and going out to eat with her sisters.

The family would like to thank the staff of Campbell Place for friendship and care they provided to Mom.

Pastor Jeffory Willets will officiate a private graveside service for immediate family on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Bellefontaine Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 1140 Rush Ave. Bellefontaine, OH 43311.
