Linda Kay Stamm, 77, of Bellefontaine and formerly of Belle Center, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 8th, 2026, at her home surrounded by the love of her family.
Linda was born on June 1, 1948, in Belle Center, and is the daughter of the late Mary Lou Thomas (Henry) and Harry Earl Thomas.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Skyler Nicole Stamm.
Linda is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Ray Stamm; their children, Stacie (Mark) Cooper and Thomas A. (Rae Jean) Stamm; her sister, Sandy (David) Bell; her grandchildren, Haley (Aaron) LaBatt, Georgia (Matthew) Kent, and Anthony Stamm; and her great-granddaughter, Quinn LaBatt. She is also survived by her beloved nieces and nephews: Tiffany, Matt, Terri, and David.
Linda graduated from Belle Center High School in 1966, where she was known for her sophisticated sense of style and quick wit. She went on to work for many years as the manager of The Heights Apartments in Bellefontaine. She also dedicated time to caring for the American Legion and served as a bookkeeper for Stamm Small Engine Repair. Throughout her life, she remained active in supporting local businesses and her community.
Linda found deep purpose in her service to American Legion Post #173, where she served as Auxiliary President for 20 years and was a proud lifetime member. She devoted herself to caring for and honoring those who served our country, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Linda was a pillar of strength and comfort to her family and all who knew her. She had an infectious laugh, impeccable style, and a warm, caring spirit. She will be deeply missed, but her kindness, stories, and love will live on in the many lives she touched.
Pastor April Phillips will officiate a funeral service for Linda at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 13, 2026, at the Eichholtz & Daring Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N Main Street, Bellefontaine. Visitation will be two hours prior from 11:00 to 1:00 at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in Bellefontaine Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a thank you to the nurses and staff at Universal Home Health and Hospice on the excellent care they provided in Linda’s final days.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Legion Auxiliary Scholarship Fund or simply a quiet moment of remembrance in her honor.
