With heavy hearts we share the passing of Larry J Brenner, who left this world peacefully on June 14, 2026, at the age of 82. Larry was born on January 12, 1944, in the close-knit community of North Lewisburg.
Larry was the son of the late Lester L. and Esther F. (Taylor) Brenner. He grew up with the values of hard work and integrity which he carried throughout his life. Although his brothers, Norman L. and William L., and nephew Rock Brenner, predeceased him, Larry's memories of them remain cherished in his heart.
Larry was the husband of Beverly (Barton), with whom he shared 58 years of marriage. Together, they raised a family grounded in love, including their daughter, Amy E. (Chad) Gilligan.
Larry's legacy continues through his adored granddaughter, McKenna M Gilligan, who brought immense joy and light into his life. His wisdom will forever guide her, just as it did his many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins, who held a special place in his heart.
Larry was a 1962 graduate of Bellefontaine High School. He grew up living the farm life. He was a member of the USAF from 1963 to 1967 with training in ground electronics (first year). He spent his first 2 years out of training serving Alaska, then the southeast US out of Robbins AFB in GA. He also served in Rome, Athens, and Izmir, Turkey.
An avid sports fan, Larry's passion for Ohio State was infectious. His enthusiasm for sports was more than a pastime; it was a way to connect with others, celebrate victories, and learn from defeats. His spirited discussions and unwavering support for his team will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Services for Larry are pending at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the VA, an organization close to Larry's heart.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the medical personnel who provided exceptional care to Larry in his final weeks, including the dedicated staff at Sarah Moore in Delaware, Dublin Methodist Hospital, Capital City Home Care, and Concord Township FD. Your compassion and dedication brought comfort to Larry and our family, and for that, we are eternally thankful.
Rest in peace, dear Larry. We will miss you yet are grateful that you are now at peace.
