It is with much sadness we announce the unexpected passing of Kelly Marie Costello. A Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and Aunt who peacefully left this life at the age of 59, on Friday, January 9, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones as she entered the next chapter of her existence after a short fight with cancer.
She was born on May 27, 1966, in Winchester, Virginia to Samuel Costello and Sharon (Brunson) Costello.
She leaves behind her two daughters whom she loved deeply, Britni (Harlan “Bo”) Fout and Brandi (Jerry) Darst; her grandchildren she adored more than life, Lexi June Postle, Ryder Postle, Makayla Darst, Nolan Darst, Dillon Darst; great grandchildren: Divinity Pittman and Vienna Peterman; siblings: Scott Graves, Vince Costello, Tina (Ric) Norton, Douglas (Lisa) Costello; sister-in-law, Kathy Costello; nieces and nephews, Aimee, Vince, Justin, Christopher, Kacie (deceased) Costello and many others; several aunts and uncles; The Beaver Girls; and many other special friends.
To know Kelly, was to love her. Even though she was feisty at times, she was so full of compassion and was the most loyal friend. Kelly loved this life and lived it to the fullest. She was the life of the party anywhere she went and no matter who she was around. She loved to sing karaoke and spend her Wednesday nights with the Beaver Girls. She was an avid sports fan, cheering on the Cincinnati Bengals (WHO DEY!), The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Reds, or her beloved Bellefontaine Chieftains.
Her goal in life was to live in the moment and to never miss a chance to make new memories with those she loved. Whether she was taking trips with the girls, to bowling in leagues with her daughters, or going to Red’s games with her sister. The weeknights around the pool on “girls’ night” was the highlight of every week of every summer and rarely missed.
Above all else in this life, she loved her family more than anything and she cherished the time spent with her grandchildren. While she was taken from us, she has not left us. We see her in the laughs of her grandchildren, we feel her with the smell of the “stingy tea” and hear her in the chorus on a summer night. She was taken from us, but she is everywhere we look.
As much as she celebrated life, we ask that you come to celebrate hers. Join us for a celebration of life on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. at the Eichholtz and Daring Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 321 N Main Street, Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311. Visitation will be two hours prior from 11:30 to 1:30 at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow in Huntsville Cemetery.
We are requesting everyone to dress casual or wear Cincinnati Reds, Bengals, or Ohio State to honor Kelly.
Godspeed Kelly.
