Judith Lynn Avery, 61, of Galloway, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family in Grove City, Ohio on October 16, 2026. She was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio on June 22, 1965, to the late Harold Clayton “Bill” Gammell and Gloria Kay (Ganson).
She leaves behind her children: Hailey Holcomb and Mike (Alma) Lucas; granddaughter, Isabella; siblings: Lori, Stephanie, Sandy, Robert, and Louie; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brother, Tommy and sister, Debbie.
A passionate lover of Christmas, Judy’s final wish was to experience the magic of the holiday one last time. Her family brought that wish to life, filling her final days with early gifts, festive decorations, and the spirit of the season. Judy’s generosity extended far beyond her family; she was a deeply giving soul who participated in holiday gift exchanges each year, supported homeless outreach programs, and dedicated her careers to serving others. As a program manager for the Department of the Army, and a member of the Army Acquisition Corps, she took immense pride in supporting our military.
Outside of her dedicated service, Judy found her greatest joys in life’s adventures – whether she was exploring the world on a cruise ship or tending to the beauty of her garden. She leaves behind a legacy of love and will be deeply missed.
Memorial contributions can be made to Care 360 Hospice, 3455 Mill Run Drive, Suite 900, Hilliard, Ohio 43026.
A funeral service will be held for Judy on Friday, October 23, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., at the Eichholtz & Daring Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 321 N Main Street, Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311. Visitation will be two hours prior from 12:00 to 2:00. A private burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, West Liberty at a later date.
