Joshua Michael Carr, 40, of Bellefontaine, passed away unexpectedly at 12:09 p.m. on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at Mary Rutan Hospital. He was born in Williamsburg, Virginia on April 23, 1985, to the late David C. Carr and Deborah (Chamberlain) Hughes, who survives.
He is also survived by his children, Austin Hartzler, Liam Carr, Kingston Carr, and Titan Carr; siblings, Katie (Nick) Halm, Natasha Carr, Emily (Brock) Coyer, Clay Carr, and Logan Carr; his significant other and mother of Kingston and Titan, Mary Major; mother of Austin and Liam, Tabitha Clem; aunts and uncles, George Carr, Greg (Mandi) Carr, Steve Chamberlain, Larry (Sonya) Chamberlain, and Sarah Cummings; nieces and nephews, Aiden Carr, Taylor Clary, Braylon Carr, Ariah Carr, Avayah “Avocado” Carr, Ayson Carr, Hailey Coyer, Sophia Halm and Henry Halm; special lifelong friends, Derek Clingerman, Eric Smith, and Keith Mongold; and beloved dog, Duke.
Along with his father, Josh was also preceded in death by his aunt and uncles, Cheryl Snyder, John Carr, Rick Carr, and Daniel Carr, and his loving dog, Karai.
Josh was deeply committed to being a father. He collected action figures like Ninja Turtles and Power Rangers. He enjoyed showing off his cooking skills on the Blackstone grill. He loved time with his family and the Christmas holiday, particularly when it came to hanging Christmas lights around the house. Cherishing meaningful family experiences, Josh regularly took his sons to see movies or on shopping trips out of town. He loved drinking coffee, and liked eating at restaurants, such as, Chipotle and Texas Roadhouse. He will be remembered for the warmth and compassion he brought as a son, father, brother, and uncle.
Pastor Bryan Meadows will officiate a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 12, 2025, at the Eichholtz & Daring Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main Street, Bellefontaine. Visitation will be Thursday, September 11, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
