John A. Stout

John A. Stout, 67, of Belle Center went home to be with his Lord and savior on Thursday, September 18th, 2025, at his beloved residence after a lifelong battle with dilated cardiomyopathy.

John was born in Kenton, Ohio, on August 26th, 1958, to James and Dolores “Maxine” (Dugan) Stout. He graduated from Benjamin Logan Schools in 1976, achieved his State FFA Degree and American Farmers degree, as well as graduating from The Ohio State University in 1982 with a degree in agricultural business and education. In 1987 he married the love of his life, Jeanne (Beatty) Stout, in DeGraff, Ohio, and went on to have two children whom he greatly adored and raised them together on his family farm.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jeanne Stout, his two children Jessica Stout and Jacob (Tori) Stout, his granddaughter Remington “Remi” Stout, his sister Jane (Dan) Blair, as well as multiple nephews and great nieces and nephews.

John was a lifelong farmer; passionately carrying on and successfully expanding the generational family farm, as well as starting his own trucking company, J. Stout Trucking LTD., on July 4th of 1976, and successfully ran it for 50 years starting with his father and ending with his son. Both are still in the family and in operation today.

In his free time, John was an avid historical military gun collector who also greatly enjoyed gun shows and traveling with his wife of 37 years. Family was the center of his world, and also his greatest accomplishment; he was extremely proud of both of his children and the professional paths they had chosen. While he may never have told them, you could see it in the gleaming smile he had when he told people about his children and their lives. The title of “grandfather” was the proudest moment of his life, and he couldn’t get enough time with his granddaughter, Remi.

John’s devotion to his family, faith, livelihood and community knew no bounds. Anywhere he went he never knew a stranger, always entertained every room he was in, and had the most infectious booming laughter. If you were traveling with John, you were guaranteed never to get lost and to get a history lesson on the area along the way.

John was an active member of the Belle Center United Presbyterian Church, serving in various positions over the years, as well as a member of the Miami Grange in DeGraff, Ohio.

The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that memorial contributions be made to the following entities he was most passionate about: the American Heart Association in Central/Southern/Eastern Ohio, 1650 Lake Shore Drive, Suite 350, Columbus, Ohio 43204, Belle Center United Presbyterian Church, 202 Walnut Street, Belle Center, Ohio 43310 and BMRT Squad in Belle Center, 104 West Buckeye Street, Belle Center, Ohio 43310

A celebration of life service will be held in his honor at the Belle Center United Presbyterian Church, 202 Walnut Street, Belle Center, on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Pastor Ted Dennis, with lunch to follow.

John will be greatly missed by all of the lives he has touched over the years in various ways, but especially by his family.
