Joan Chamberlain, 83, passed away on September 26, 2026, in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida with family members by her side.
Joan was born on September 25, 1943, in Bellefontaine, Ohio. She was the daughter of Paul A. and Wanda (Baker) Chamberlain.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved son, John Michael Blackburn Weymouth. She is now in Heaven with her LORD Jesus and loved ones.
Joan is survived by her two granddaughters, Michelle (Johnny) Castellon of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and Catherine (Sean Taylor) Weymouth of Loxahatchee, Florida; five great-grandchildren, Damyen (Elizabeth) Castellon of Richmond, Virginia; Natalia Castellon of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; and Barbara Edwards, Kayla & Caleb Taylor of Loxahatchee, Florida; a brother Scott (Cheryl) Chamberlain of Navarre, Florida; two sisters Jillian (Phil) Chamberlain Holt of Cincinnati, Ohio and Sally (Carter) Chamberlain of Richmond, Virginia; and a nephew Aaron (Whitney) Chamberlain and two great-nephews Reid and Cooper Chamberlain all of Navarre, Florida. Joan is also survived by her husband Jim Reynolds, now living with his family in Texas. She also leaves behind an uncle Mike (Peggy) Chamberlain of North Lewisburg, Ohio; an aunt Elaine Baker of Dayton, Ohio and a daughter-in-law Colleen (Bill) Korth of Miami, Florida and many special cousins, extended family and friends.
Joan was a beautiful person in every way. She was brilliant, loving, generous and courageous. She always inspired others to be happy and to be their best. She remained young at heart by always making everything special for others, especially for her son, granddaughters and great-grandchildren; as well as her younger siblings when they were all growing up. Joan loved to give special gifts, cook everyone's favorite meals and make their favorite cookies, cakes and holiday pies.
As her granddaughter said, "Grandma Joan's family was her favorite hobby." She loved spending her time visiting with her grand and great-grandchildren for any occasion, taking them on special excursions, attending school and sports activities and traveling to popular attractions.
Additionally, Joan loved going back "home to Ohio" to celebrate her and her siblings' birthdays, as well as Christmas and special occasions along with their parents, relatives and friends. She loved traveling with her Mom & sisters for their "Girls week-end trips" exploring American history, attractions, shopping and being together.
She also enjoyed reading non-fiction and mysteries, playing the piano, singing, listening to all kinds of music, watching movies and sporting events, especially Ohio State football.
Joan's belief that family was most important enriched all our lives and she will forever remain in our hearts and cherished memories.
Joan graduated from Perry Zane HS in 1961 as Valedictorian of her class. She was a varsity cheerleader, performed in plays and musicals, played the piano, clarinet, flute and violin and was in the marching band, 4-H cooking and sewing club, as well as other activities.
She was a member of the East Liberty UMC and the Order of the Eastern Star. After her son passed away she became involved in Compassionate Friends and also volunteered for a suicide hotline. She led a courageous, personal battle against multiple myeloma for many years.
Joan worked at O.M. Scott Co. and then a law firm in Marysville, Ohio. Eventually she moved to Columbia, Maryland and worked for the James Rousch Co. She retired after working as an executive secretary for Attorney Richard Sicking in Coral Gables, Florida for over 30 years.
