James D. Littlejohn, 92, of Bellefontaine passed away at 8:15 a.m. on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at his residence. He was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio on August 29, 1933, to the late Floran O. and Marie Esther (Albright) Littlejohn.
On October 30, 1953, he married Caroline Mae (Detweiler) Littlejohn, and she preceded him in death on October 24, 2013.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Sheryl Littlejohn of Bellefontaine; son-in-law, Robert Hunsicker of West Liberty; grandchildren, Joshua (Shannon) Hunsicker of Bellefontaine and Laura (Shannon) Wright of Bellefontaine; great grandchildren, Thomas Hunsicker, Brandon Hunsicker, Sebastian Hunsicker, Phines Hunsicker, Teaghan Hunsicker, Ahnika Hunsicker, Blake Cramer, and Tyler Wright; great-great granddaughter, Virginia Hunsicker; and niece, Susan Paff of Urbana.
Along with his parents and wife, Jim was preceded in death by his daughter, Janet Sue Hunsicker; sister, Dorothy J. Brown; brother, Charles O. Littlejohn; and nephew, John Brown.
Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Army and an active member of Calvary Baptist Church in Bellefontaine, as well as the FAN CLAN of Ohio Trailer Club and Sunny Brook Trailer Club. Renowned for his strong work ethic, Jim dedicated 30 years to service as a firefighter with the Bellefontaine Fire Department and spent 20 years employed as an electrician for Bush Electric. He also enjoyed camping and regularly spent winters in Texas and Florida.
Pastor Jeffory Willetts will officiate a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at the Eichholtz & Daring Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main Street, Bellefontaine. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral on Tuesday, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Cemetery in West Liberty.
