Helen L. Roth, 96, of Jackson Center, passed away at 9:05 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Carecore at Heritage in Minster. She was born in Battle Creek, Michigan on August 4, 1929, to the late Bert and Una (Schaeffer) Baker.
On February 7, 1948, Helen married her first husband, Willis Wildermuth and he preceded her in death on January 26, 1978. On November 10, 1978, she married her second husband, Bill Roth and he preceded her in death on October 13, 2017.
Helen is survived by her sons, Mark Alan Wildermuth, and Michael (Deb) Wildermuth; 10 grandchildren, Brittney (Brooks) Wallace, Amber (Mike) Fagan, Gavin (Natalie) Wildermuth, Brady (Lauren) Wildermuth, Lyle (Holly) Faler, and Greg (Ellen) Faler; 11 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and 4 step-children, Mike (Beth) Roth, Deb (Brent) Jeffers, Nancy Roth, and Bob Roth.
Along with her parents and husbands, Helen was also preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia “Patty” Faler, son, Bill L. Wildermuth, and 7 siblings.
Helen spent 18 years working at Curly’s Meats and worked as a receptionist at Airstream for many years. She also spent time working with Phil Cummins at Phil’s Cardinal Market. Helen was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Rhine. She was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, the Cincinnati Reds, and the Cleveland Browns. Watching her children and grandchildren play sports was very special to her. Helen was known for her exceptional cooking and baking and keeping her home impeccably clean. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Father Sean Wilson will officiate a Memorial Mass at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 16053 Botkins Rd., Botkins. Inurnment will follow Mass at Glen Cemetery in Port Jefferson.
