Eloise Fae Shirk, 81, of Bellefontaine, passed away Saturday afternoon, August 1, 2026, at her daughter’s home in Sidney.
Eloise was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio, on May 16, 1945, to the late Wilson Michael Miller and Bessie Leland (Elliott) Miller. She was also preceded in death by 4 sisters, a brother, son-in-law Ron Murray, and grandson Corey Lamson.
Eloise is survived by her daughters: Susan (Douglas) Watercutter of Sidney, Brenda (Gregory) Lyon of Cloverdale, Indiana, Jean (Brian Zizelman) Murray of Rockford, Ohio, and Sandra (David) Stidam of Urbana; 7 grandchildren: Chris Lamson, Elaine Horne, Amanda Long, Michelle Hill, Tylor Murray, Nicholas Watkins, and Dalton Peters; many great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; 2 sisters: Helen Brown of Florida, and Maxine Smith of Cridersville; a brother Wilson Michael Miller, Jr. of West Liberty; numerous nieces and nephews; lifelong friend Donna (Jim) Brewer; amazing neighbor and friends, Sharon (Cleve) Walden, and Sandy Haas.
Eloise was an amazing cook and shared those talents for many years working at Logan Acres. She also enjoyed crocheting and donated many crochet items to medical facilities, retirement homes, and pregnancy centers in west central Ohio over the years. Eloise shared her baked goods and always made sure everyone was fed.
Pastor Rob Kilgore will officiate Eloise’s memorial service on Friday, August 14, 2026, at noon at Eichholtz & Daring Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Bellefontaine, where the family will receive friends one hours prior to the service. She will be interred at Harper Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
