Eleanor L. Hamburger, 93, of Bellefontaine, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025, in Buckeye Forest at Belle Springs, Bellefontaine.
She was born in De Graff, Ohio on August 29, 1931, the daughter of the late Charles Luther and Viola Elizabeth (Stayrook) Blumenschein. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Luther Blumenschein, Jr. and Gene Edward Blumenschein, a sister-in-law, Lois Blumenschein, and a brother-in-law, Russell Evans.
On April 14, 1951, she married Donald Frank Hamburger in Stony Creek Church of the Brethren and he preceded her in death on February 28, 2018.
She is survived by her three children, Lynda (John) Breidenbach of Arcadia, FL, Debra May of Bellefontaine, and Greg (Corey) Hamburger of West Mansfield, four grandchildren, Kaci (Rob) Herndon, Kristi (Tyson) Hoxworth, Brooks (Aryn) May, and Kendra May, six great grandchildren, Zaelan, William, Elizabeth, Dax, Isla, and Lincoln, a sister, Isabel Evans, and several nieces and nephews.
Eleanor worked for D.A.B. / Glacier Daido Metals for more than 30 years, taking some time off to raise her family. She enjoyed caring for her property, taking care of the lawn and gardening. She was also a big sports fan and followed The Ohio State Buckeyes football and basketball teams.
Pastor Harold Leise will officiate a graveside service on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 11:00 am in Philadelphia Cemetery, Logan County.
