Dorothy "Dottie" Rose West

Dorothy “Dottie” R. West, 92, of Bellefontaine, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 18, 2026. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on August 18, 1933, to the late John and Dorothy (Link) Welther.

On February 4, 1954, she married John David West, and he preceded her in death on September 14, 2006. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Jack Welther.

She leaves behind her children: Kim (Chris) Peters and Todd (Elaine) West; grandchildren: Brett (Maribeth), LeAnna (Cyle), and Blake (Katie); great grandchildren: Drake, Teddy and Dory; and many nieces and nephews.

Dottie was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bellefontaine. She enjoyed sewing, playing cards with her daughter, and sculpting stained glass pieces that her family still cherishes to this day. Some of her favorite memories were made traveling with her husband and taking family vacations with their children. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she treasured any time spent with them.

There will be a private graveside service for Dottie at the convenience of the family.
