Billy Ray Garland

Billy "Shylow" Garland, 72, of Lakeview, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, in Mary Rutan Hospital ER.

Billy was born in Michigan City, Indiana on March 24, 1954, the son of the late Elizabeth (Taylor) Hiser. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Angel Williams.

He is survived by his "other half", Lahoma Brake of Lakeview, a son, Roger Garland, two sisters, Linda Gossett and Tammy Schrul, four brothers, Ed Garland, Charles Williams, Michael Hiser, and Dan Garland, and a grandson, Brandon Garland.

Billy was a strong man, both physically and in a helping manor. He always found a way to be able to lend a helping hand to a friend or family member, when they were in need. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and was a talented artist, who enjoyed drawing.

There is a celebration of life service being planned for later this summer.
