Barbara C. Krueger

Barbara C. Krueger, 90, of Bellefontaine, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2026, in OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus.

She was born in Columbus, Ohio on September 22, 1935, the daughter of the late Gerald and Estella Mae (Smith) Roberts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Dale Krueger and a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Roberts.

On August 9, 1957, she married Keith T. Krueger in Worthington, Ohio and he survives in Bellefontaine.

She is also survived by two daughters, Donna (Randal) Penhorwood and Terry (Rev. Jonathan) Bull, four grandchildren, Keith (Rachael) Penhorwood, Jill (Jacob) Britten, Michael Bull, and Sarah (Isaac) Samuelson, four great grandchildren, Soren, Rebekah, Constance, and Eveleyn, a brother, Don Roberts and several nieces and nephews.

After graduating from Columbus South High School, she went to work for Wartburg Press, the publishing house of the First American Lutheran Church, Columbus where she met the love of her life, Keith. She worked as an executive assistant for Knowlton Construction and also later for the First Lutheran Church, Bellefontaine, where she was a member since 1969. This is the same year she and Keith moved to Bellefontaine. She enjoyed crocheting and in her younger years, she liked to bowl, but her favorite times were those spent with her family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Friday, August 7, 2026, in the First Lutheran Church, 208 W. Sandusky Ave., Bellefontaine where her son-in-law, Rev. Jonathan Bull will officiate along with Rev. Lawrence Novak. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday, prior to the funeral, from 9:30 to 11:00am. Burial will be private in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Bellefontaine.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Lutheran Church, 208 W. Sandusky Ave., Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311.
