Aroon S. Datta

Aroon S. Datta, 73, of Bellefontaine, Ohio passed away Monday, November 15, 2021, at his residence.

He was born February 21, 1948, in Sialkot, Pakistan, a son of the late Professor T.S. and Zebunissa (Shadikhan) Datta.  He was also preceded in death by a brother, Anil Datta in 2019.

He is survived by his two sons, Aftab (Yulia) Datta and Shehryar (Rebecca) Datta; four grandchildren: Yasmin, Anika, Jack, and Charlie; the mother of his children, Samina Datta; a brother, Shonil (Farzana) Datta and a niece, Samina Shaw.

Aroon worked as a medical liaison and had an endless fascination with history, psychology and religious philosophy.  He was a man of God and was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Bellefontaine where he was an Elder and taught Sunday School.  He enjoyed traveling and was a dog lover as his chocolate lab, Buddy was always by his side.

Pastor Steve Merrin will officiate a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 20, 2021, at the First United Presbyterian Church in Bellefontaine.
