Agatha Sherwood, 100, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at her home. She was born in Hartford, Ohio on December 17, 1925, to the late Stefan and Mary (Majewski) Wlodarsky.
On October 23, 1945, she married Elmer Paul Sherwood, and he preceded her in death on December 21, 1985. She is also preceded in death by her daughter in law, Janet Sherwood; 3 sisters and 8 brothers.
She is survived by her children: Mary (Rick) Pummell, Thomas Sherwood, Kathy Coy, Tim (Terry) Sherwood, Chris “Kip” Sherwood and Bill Sherwood; grandchildren: Heather (Brian), Laura (Patrick), David (Amy), John (April), Jennifer, TJ (Shelby), Tyler (Molly), Jennifer (Steve) and Jackie (Robert); numerous great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Agatha was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Bellefontaine and was a dedicated member to local garden clubs for 50 years. She loved traveling, gardening, crocheting, and knitting – making special afghans for every grandchild that was born into the family.
Father Shawn Landenwitch will officiate a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at the Eichholtz & Daring Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main Street, Bellefontaine. Visitation will be one hour prior from 11:00 to 12:00 at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in Calvary Cemetery, Bellefontaine.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 316 E. Patterson Ave, Bellefontaine or to Universal Home Health and Hospice, 921 Rush Ave, Bellefontaine.
